The Marketing Director lead creative and marketing strategy for Clayton & Crume, leading the team in developing campaigns that showcase our unique brand identity while driving online product sales. Reporting to the VP of Marketing, you’ll oversee everything from brainstorming big ideas to executing the details, ensuring every touchpoint reflects our vision and connects with our audience. You'll work closely with the product development team to launch new products and initiatives, while also creating customer engagement strategies that drive acquisition, retention, and long-term loyalty. This role requires a balance of creativity and marketing strategy—someone who can guide projects from concept to completion, collaborate across teams, and take ownership of initiatives that fuel growth.

 

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Prioritize driving product sales online, both current and new products, and work closely with the product develop team on new product launches and initiatives.
  • Develop customer engagement strategies to drive customer acquisition, retention, and engagement.
  • Hyper-focused on driving drive brand loyalty and long-term engagement.
  • Work closely with performance marketing on all ecommerce strategies, email strategy, website user experience, and more.
  • Partner with the VP of Marketing to strategize quarterly initiatives, identify growth opportunities, and execute seamlessly across channels.
  • Elevate and refine our copywriting across all channels. From crafting product descriptions to writing impactful campaign manifestos, you'll take ownership of the marketing department's copywriting efforts, ensuring on-brand tone and consistency.
  • Maintain and evolve our creative direction, infusing personality and brand DNA through new content creation.
  • Oversee photoshoots, video production, social media content, and influencer collaborations to align with the brand’s vision and goals.
  • Develop an annual organic social strategy for platforms like Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and Pinterest.
  • Work closely with the in-house design team and Art Director on bringing Marketing initiatives to life.
  • Develop and execute innovative marketing strategies that reflect Clayton & Crume’s brand identity.
  • Define the overall marketing vision for the brand and align that vision with company goals.
  • Develop long-term brand strategies that position Clayton & Crume as a leader in the industry.
  • Implement creative retail marketing strategies to boost brand visibility, foot traffic, and sales in physical store locations.
  • Thrive as a team player, working within budgets and tight deadlines on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Clear communication skills, with experience translating data into strategic recommendations.
  • Ability to work both independently and in team settings.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, and an ability to manage multiple projects and adjust to frequently changing priorities.
  • Highly self-motivated to go above and beyond standard requirements

 

What you’ll bring to the table

  • Leadership skills, and an entrepreneurial spirit
  • 5+ years in a creative marketing leadership role, ideally within eCommerce, retail, or consumer goods.
  • You bring bold ideas to the table and have the creative chops to bring them to life.
  • Experience in branding, brand storytelling, ecommerce platforms, email marketing platforms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for storytelling and persuasion.
  • Experience implementing new marketing initiatives and conversion tracking.
  • Robust knowledge in excel
  • Keen understanding of the Clayton & Crume brand, mission and customer
  • The ability to understand what DTC levers to pull to hit business and department goals
